Ohhhh man, school has hit my hard. Logos, rebrands, brochures, websites, it’s crazy busy. So, needless to say, I haven’t had a heck of a lot of time this month to do much Christmas decorating so I kept it real simple this year.
To get you into the the holiday spirit here’s a snowy beach photo for you.
I’ve gone with more of a Winter theme this year than a Christmas theme this way things can stay up past Christmas and I don’t have to feel bad especially since the end of my semester is right around then.
The art work is from IKEA when everything was on crazy clearance after Christmas last year. For five post cards I paid a whopping 25 cents. The sparkly reindeer was from a diy project I did last year (before the nook got painted. Geez, why did I wait so long?), the acrylic reindeer on the top shelf are from the dollar store that I bought a few years ago for just a few bucks, and the green candle holders are something I use year round from Ten Thousand Villages.
I love our Christmas tree this year. I purchased some colourful ornaments and used the striped black and white fabric that I still had around the house as my tree skirt. The tree definitely has a little more funk this year.
I don’t have a tree topper so I used the geometric cube made of straws as my topper. It adds to the funkiness.
I had to include this photo because I love the way the tree looks in the mirror – so bright and sparkly.
And the classic Pinterest tree in a mason jar with some sparkly lights behind.
And just for kicks, here’s our 2012 and 2011 Christmas trees.
