“Planting” a Kiss for Valentine’s Day

And a Happy (belated) Valentine’s Day to all my blog readers (this post came a little late)! I hope your lovers spoiled you with goodness (or you spoiled yourself)! I could write a million and one reasons why I love my husband but I’ll save you from all that mushiness and cut straight to the chase and show you what I planted on him ;)

Christmas was less than two months ago and the husband’s birthday is next month so Valentine’s Day in this household is pretty simple but it’s the thought that counts and the quality time spent with each other right? Continuing on with my tradition from last year, I presented the husband with something for our home. Last year I got him this cool structure (well at least I thought so)…

Because what man doesn’t want one of those? I totally deserve a Wife of the Year trophy for that one but I’m stepping things up this year and made this for him…

A terrarium! It’s like the man version of a bouquet of roses. This terrarium didn’t come as a total surprise to him but the idea certainly was. We purchased the bowl together at West Elm last weekend. Surprise ruined. I bought some rocks from the dollar store, and the succulents are from our local corner grocer. And those heart shaped rocks? I stumbled across them in the garden. Maybe not. We got them from the wedding we attended in Mexico last Fall.

Building a terrarium is super simple. I layered some rocks at the bottom…

…added my succulents and voila!

I don’t have much of a green thumb so let’s see how long these babies survive :|

Did you get spoiled this Valentine’s Day? Tell me about it. Keep it G-rated people. Bow-chicka-wa-wa.
