A reader sent me an email requesting some help. She is in need of a bedroom repaint and has sent me this photo asking for a colour that would replicate the room. She’s been searching everywhere but hasn’t been able to find just the right one.
This is a beautiful shade of purple. The magenta undertone makes this a ‘warm’ purple unlike a blue undertone which would make the space feel cooler. This grayed down version of purple makes for a very sophisticated look for a young woman.
Check out these six options all from Benjamin Moore:
They are all similar but vary slightly and that will be even more pronounced when you pick up the actual colour chip from your local Benjamin Moore store and hold it up in your space.
Of course a lot depends on the lighting in your space such as natural lighting versus artificial lighting and then which direction your room faces. Is it north, south, east, or west? A north or east facing room will automatically make the space feel cooler because of the lack of sunlight where as a south and west facing room will always feel warmer because of the afternoon and evening sun.
Before purchasing a gallon of paint I always suggest narrowing down your colour chip selection and purchasing two or three tester pots to paint on the wall to help with your decision making. This will give you a very good idea of how all four walls will look and feel painted.
I can’t wait to hear and see what you chose
And if you need some help finding the perfect colour for your space I’d love to help you out. Drop me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org with a photo of your dream colour and I’ll feature it on my blog.
