Oh, the little joys in life! I can’t help but smile everytime I pass by the bathroom. The artwork adds a personal mark and a nice pop o’ colour to this space but the area between the toilet tank and the canvas is looking a little bare-naked
I went scrounging through my cupboards and closets and found two vases. The glass vase was used as a candle holder in our wedding and the white container is another clearance purchase from Chapter’s. But now what to add to these empty containers? It still hasn’t solved my bare-naked problem…
Something that always needs to be within arms reach while taking a shower is a bar of soap. How many of you have walked in to the shower then realized that someone forgot to refill the soap? It happens all the time. That is also why I now stack the tp beside the toilet
So now this container solves the soap problem. No need to yell at your partner in the other room to fetch you a bar of soap.
Because these two containers just happen to be the same height I needed to add something else for height variation. Not only do these flowers offer a great source of colour but they also add life to the space. It’s amazing what some fresh (or fake) flowers can do to a room.
But I’m not quite finished. Just one more detail.
This wooden box just adds more height and another element of texture to the space. It’s also great for storing stuff like those little hotel shampoo bottles and shower caps.
Let me remind you how this bathroom looked before…
For a grand total of $10, which includes paint and other supplies, this bathroom has come to life. I think we can call this bathroom mini makeover complete. Unless, I decide to do something with the cabinets…
What did you do to update your bathroom on a tight budget? How have you personalized your rental bathroom? Did you create any of your own artwork to hang in this space?

Hi, found your blog on BowerPower! I love what you did with the yellow flowers and the vase of soap, so clever! Those are my favorite flowers and I want to use them in my wedding! Too bad everytime I see them, they are artificial. I have no clue what the real ones are even called. Very cute blog!
Thanks so much for the kind words Rachael! FYI, the flowers are called forsythias. I love how they provide a super bright punch of colour!
Oh, and good luck with your wedding planning! Can’t wait to see what you do! I take it you will post photos…lol
Thanks so much for the flower name!! Writing that down now… I will definitely blog about wedding planning once I officially start. Haha, ok so I’m not technically engaged yet but we’ve had “the talk” and I already have a secret wedding pinterest board. So in my mind, I’m planning.
